Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I was  shocked when Mickey died. Young himself, the age of my own children and with primary aged twins, it seemed wrong on all levels. I met him a few times - in the school yard, my grandchildren’s party, the nativity play- and his kindness and interest in me and my Orienteering remain a charming memory.

Brain tumours that were inoperable 15 years ago but still no hope today led to his passing a couple of weeks ago.

I hope that orienteering at this event will raise both awareness and funds for increased research. In so doing, we may accelerate the means to avoid the loss and sadness recently experienced by this young family.

Shocking statistic: Brain tumours kill more children and adults under 40 than any other cancer!
